For 72 long days, Angel Santiago searched for the one companion he depends on most — his beloved dog, Bam Bam. ❤️
The 14-year-old dachshund, who serves as emotional support for the legally blind Chicago man, had been stolen right out of his backyard in June. Angel tried to chase after the people who took him, but he fell and couldn’t keep up. Still, he refused to give up.
Day after day, he searched.

He walked miles handing out flyers.
Strangers stepped in to help, raising awareness, offering support, and even setting up a reward.
Bam Bam wasn’t just a pet — he was family.
Then, one night, everything changed.
At 9 p.m., Angel received a call that didn’t feel real. After more than two months of heartbreak, he thought it might be a prank. But it wasn’t.
Bam Bam had been turned in to a local police station.
Two people had quietly brought him in and left without answering questions. Thanks to his microchip, officers were able to contact Angel — and within moments, he and a friend were racing to the station.
When he finally saw Bam Bam again, Angel could hardly believe it. He checked his ears, his face… making sure it was really him. And then the emotion hit all at once.
They were finally back together.

Bam Bam had clearly been through a lot. He was underweight, his nails overgrown, with small signs of injury. And he wasn’t quite himself. He wouldn’t even fall asleep unless Angel was right beside him.
But now, he doesn’t have to be alone ever again.
After everything Angel and Bam Bam endured, one thing is certain…
They’ll both be resting a little easier now — back together, where they belong. 🐾❤️
